The Big Birthday Bash

I recently received a mail from my dad in the UK.

He is turning 50 this year (i can't believe it) and thus send an email with some gift requests.

Including a yacht, 25 seater jet and a game lodge in Africa... :) and for budgeting purposes, he allocated price to each gift request (makes it easier for the guests I guess). But then he wrote the following:

"Immortality, everlasting abundant life, "all things", adoption to a family that is out of this world, powers of the world to come, an inheritance that is safe, secure and all-encompassing and will never fade away nor can it be stolen or diminished, joy unspeakable

Price: Much more than all the gold and silver and all the wealth available throughout the ages.

(This gift is not available to be sponsored anymore. My best friend has already paid the price and given it to me - you can see him at the birthday party when you see me.) "

It made me cry. How many times do I grumble like the Israelites when I have everything and more!

The paths of the Lord drop fatness. His ways are steadfast love and faithfulness. Though we forsake Him, He cannot and will not forsake us. No wonder David longed to live in the courts of the King, daily.

May the world see Jesus when they look at His bride. May the world see Jesus when they see me.
