Psa 92:12-13 The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon. They are planted in the house of the LORD; they flourish in the courts of our God.
Psa 92:14-15 They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green, to declare that the LORD is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
Bearing fruit is neccessary for increase. It is the natural carrier of new seed! Want seed to sow? Be fruitful! Want to be fruitful? Be planted in the house of the Lord- Be ROOTED IN CHRIST!
It is through God's goodness that we become fruitful. I love the way Spurgeon puts it:
"They, by God’s goodness, have become fruitful, having been planted in a good soil; the Lord hath trained them upon the walls of the sanctuary, and they bring forth fruit to his glory; but what are they without their God? What are they without the continual influence of the Spirit, begetting fruitfulness in them"
The photo was taken on our holiday- en route to Durban- in the Midlands Meander at a little piece of paradise that Collin and Jacomien introduced us to on our first trip together on eldership (we went to visit NCF Church in Pietermaritzburg) xxx Liezl
