Wisdom Makes Mom a Warrior

“Wisdom is better than weapons of war” Ecc 9:18

Wanna win the war?
(on toddler tantrums and the like.)

It starts with wisdom.

Wisdom is better than whimsical ten steps to successful parenting.

Wisdom is da bomb!

And wisdom starts with reverence for God.

Ps 111:10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.”

To revere: adore, esteem, honour, worship (Caxton Thesaurus)

Reverence means that you have too much respect for that person to disobey or ignore their commands. In fact, reverence is about having intentional real interest- infatuated (for the lack of a better word) and inspired: my utmost for His highest; a total trust.

Wisdom found in such a manner provides its owner with a quiet confidence- an assurance that need not be puffed up by pretty words or cheap talk (sometimes not so cheap… depending on the book you bought). Prov 31:25 “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom and faithful instruction is on her tongue”.

Am I saying that you shouldn’t read books on parenting? Not at all! (Aren’t you busy reading this?) Do not let books become your source but allow Him who holds your highest to reveal to you what you need to do.

(And yes, He can talk to you through your friend; another mom or even that ten-steps-how-to book).

Each situation is unique.

Each child is different.

Every time, God be your guide.
