Who's voice are you listening to?

Last Sunday we had a "say it in seven" meeting in the evening (here in Uitenhage- We are helping out at a church) and three men shared for seven minutes on a certain name of God. My husband shared on the name Jehova-Rohi meaning God, our shepherd.

As usual, I was in the toddler room with Warren and he happily played with building blocks while I listened to what was being shared (picture is of Warren in the toddler room).

Warren couldn't care less what was being said and by whom untill he heard my husband's voice booming over the speakers. "Papa!"He exclaimed loudly and left all his toys to go stand at the tainted window trying to peek through and see his dad.

Often we make hearing God such a mystery, like you should get goosebumps (ohhh) but it is simple really: we know our Father's voice because we spend time with Him. My boy had no mystical power that told him it was his dad speaking, nor did he get any visual signals but he knew it was his daddy because this is the man in his life. The man whom he spends most of his time with- the man who picks him up when he falls, the man who puts him to bed at night, the man who gives him porridge in the morning, the man who spoils him with toys...

Our Father's voice becomes familiar as we spend time with Him.

Who are you spending your time with?

That will be the most familiar voice in your life...
