In the hallways of the hospital, I have met many visitors and patients coming and going- ordinary people and some not so ordinary, on their way to the last door in life.
Completely lost…
Desperately grasping in the corridors onto some false sense of security to show them the way…
Like the recent divorced mom who is having an office fling since he makes her feel wanted.
Like the rich husband who married a Korean girl half his age, not wanting to live alone.
Like the mom who never visits due to work commitments…
All seeking sanctuary somewhere; in someone.
I was stunned at the likeness between us as ordinary human beings. Flesh and dust, not in control of life, all of us facing battles- sometimes similar (like sick children). But there is something extra-ordinary about our lives as Christians, for though we too pass through the door of death; though we too walk the hallways of hospitals, we are destined to live past the final frontier!
In the end, Jesus- the only hope to be found in the hallways of life.
Jesus- the only refuge to grab onto!
