Weatherbeaten Beauty...

This past week has been challenging- getting back into routine. Sleep? Sinking in piles of washing and yes, the blog still has got me pulling hair (can't upload a pic)- I know its got something to do with cookies but my knowledge of cookies end with a lovely recipe (and lots of tasting by little fingers) YUM!

When you feel beaten, then its time for some readn (of the Word)!

“Beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.”
- Mat_14:30

I found this devotional piece by Spurgeon:

Sinking times are praying times

In our hours of bodily pain and mental anguish, we find ourselves as naturally driven to prayer as the wreck is driven upon the shore by the waves.

The fox hies to its hole for protection;
the bird flies to the wood for shelter;
and even so the tried believer hastens to the mercy seat for safety.
Heaven’s great harbour of refuge is All-prayer;

Short prayers are long enough.
There were but three words in the petition which Peter gasped out,
but they were sufficient for his purpose.
Not length but strength is desirable.
A sense of need is a mighty teacher of brevity.

When we can do nothing
Jesus can do all things;

(adapted from Spurgeon)

whether beaten or not, praying can be done in all kinds of wheather.

Now that's a beaut! Lotsa lov, liezl
