The Two Princes and True Possessions

There once lived two princes. The one prince lived in Decision Dale; a luster place sought after by the eye-people. He was very wealthy and filled his home with the kingdom’s most beautiful treasures.

The eye-people envied him.

The other prince also lived in Decision Dale, but to him- he only saw the slavery of people and the beauty of the land left him with a sense of sad irony, for all their riches could not hide the pauper clothing, the stench of decay nor the fear and insecurity that ruled the land. He was not rich in worldly possessions but his household lived in peace and joy was his strength. His sight was set not on what could be seen by eyes but on that which was hidden and can only be seen by the heart.

The first prince was so blinded by his sight that his heart was cold and therefore he could not even feel his own pain and heartache. He occupied his time with that which did… in the end, not really matter and at the end of hís time, his heart, grown hard as stone was thrown in the fiery furnace and all that remained was its ashes.

The second prince filled his heart with hidden treasure, and when his time came and his heart was also examined; out of the fire: gold and precious stones- a crown was brought forth.

"For all that is in the world- the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions- is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever"
